Red Hill Art Show is coming up. This year I am entering a woodcut print of Port Philip Bay. 65 x 70cm. Looks great framed up.

Red Hill Art Show 2014

The Red Hill Art Show this year featured a Master Printmakers section. So not only was I happy to exhibit at Red Hill this year but I was in the company of; Rona Green, Heather Shimmen, Rosalind Atkins and Jazmina Cininas. I enjoyed the show today, there was some beautiful work. The Red Hill Team have hung a beautiful show and have done all the art work a beautiful platform. I especially love being put into the Printmaking section amongst my peers. My work is still for sale, no red dot so far but we still have another full day to go.

Hoping to find another job soon. I am so broke at the moment. Meanwhile I am getting stuck into my art.

Silk Cut Reduction Print - Stage 2

Stage 2 and 26 prints have been cut and printed in light green. Now the plate will be cut again. The process is long and I have been making the edition over the last week or so. Today I accidentally nearly sliced my finger off using the Stanley knife. The damage was limited as the paper was safe. As for my finger, that is wrapped up and I may need to not print for a week or so.

It has been a while since i have done a Silk Cut Lino. This particular lino is going to be a reduction print. I am going to post each week the outcome of my process. Using new Caligo inks in exciting colors. Stay tuned!

BEST IN SHOW

Finally, after many art shows I have won first prize. Best in Show at the 2013 Mornington Peninsula Art Show. The show is held at the Rosebud College on the Mornington Peninsula. My mixed media painting of Red Bluff Mornington is the painting that won. The MPAS is held over Easter every year. Here are some pictures of the show and painting.

Mothers Day - Woodcut Reduction Print

This is a woodcut print. Done with the reduction process on a press. I have to admit that unless you have your own private space, reduction work can be a challenge. This one came out the best i think. I recently gave this to a friend who loved it.
